31 March 2020 is an important day for the legal profession. It is the last day of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) year in many States and Territories; the day where many legal professionals diligently try to remember all of the training and professional development sessions they have attended over the past 12 months and how many CPD points they have managed to accumulate for their educational endeavours. And with the 31 March deadline fast approaching, there are now only a few weeks left to earn those last couple of points.

The recent High Court case of Glencore v The Commissioner of Taxation [2019] HCA 26 has attracted attention from both law firms and corporate legal counsels.
