In remote and hybrid work settings, firms are increasingly tapping into tech to nurture their client relationships.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCOVID-19 has really lifted the bar for digital transformation, enabling quality legal service delivery via an increasingly virtual workforce,\u201d says Carl Olson, Vice President \u2013 Proposition for Thomson Reuters in the Tech & the Law 2022<\/em><\/a> <\/em>report. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technology can transform how we work, but the lawyers engaged with the tech must be on board, reminds Carl. \u201cLegal professionals are both stakeholders and change agents who ought to be considered. How they use tech determines whether greater efficiencies are being met within their organisations,\u201d he adds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As law firms face demand surges for legal services across all major practice areas<\/a>, talent concerns wait in the wings. One in two private practice professionals surveyed said that talent retention and attraction was their firm\u2019s biggest challenge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report also notes that lack of innovation exposes talent risks. Of the lawyers who said their firm was not innovative, 29% would be prepared to leave their firm because of it.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n
